Self-care is so important, yet it’s the thing we often neglect when times get busy or stressful (particularly true for those people experiencing L3 restrictions) BUT you cannot pour from an empty cup. Here are four commitments you can make to look after your holistic health:
Prioritize sleep: Aim for 8 hours sleep per night and keep good sleep habits by limiting caffeine past 2pm and having no screens 30 minutes before bed.
Forget the stuff that doesn't matter: If the kids toys aren't tidy and things are a bit of a mess in their rooms, shut the door and ignore it. It's not worth the stress, or the battle to tidy up (after all they are tired too!)
Move your body daily: walk your beloved doggie, do a body weight workout or have a dance - whatever you love to do!
Eat well 80% of the time: Say yes to the treats on occasion, but eat well most of the time - my trick is to try to remember that a salad is just as quick to prepare as ordering takeout.
